The picture I chose describes the scene when Macbeth and Banquo encounters with the three witches. Banquo challenges the witches, but the witches speak to Macbeth (wikipedia). One witch greets Macbeth as "Thane of Glamis", the second witch greets him as "Thane of Cawdor", and the third proclaims that he shall "be King hereafter" (wikipedia). The witches also have a prophecy for Banquo saying that he will father kings, but he will not become a king.
The reason why I chose this picture is because I thought this picture can basically speak for itself. I came across many other pictures that I really liked but this picture showed more gestures and symbols to me.
The first gesture that I came across to while looking at this picture was that Banquo is behind Macbeth. I realized this because Banquo, as stated in the first paragraph wants to challenge the witches. He looks like he is ready to fight, whereas Macbeth, who is in the front, looks afraid of the witches. The second gesture I saw that was interesting to me was the horses. Macbeth’s horse looks afraid of the witches just like Macbeth is and Banquo’s horse looks calm and not afraid.
