I spent about twenty minutes looking for the right video that interested me. When I finally came across this video, I realized that this was the best one to post. I chose this video because this scene shows that lady Macbeth reads the letter that Macbeth sent to her. Macbeth wrote in his letter the prophecies of the “Weird Witches”. The prophecy was that Macbeth will become king. When Lady Macbeth receives the letter and reads it from her husband she states “Glamis thou art, and Cawdor, and shalt be what thou art promis'd. Yet do I fear thy nature, It is too full o' th' milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way” (enotes.com). The part that caught my attention the most while listening to this scene was “catch the nearest way” I found this part of her line interesting because I wanted to know what was she thinking. I looked it up on google.com and it lead me to a website that I found helpful which was enotes.com. Basically, Lady Macbeth’s first thought is to murder King Duncan. When I read more of the summery on wikipedia I found out that it was Lady Macbeth’s idea to kill King Duncan, and when Macbeth became hesitant about the whole idea, Lady Macbeth challenged his manliness. So like most men, Macbeth didn't want to feel like less of a man especially in front of his wife and knowing that he was this brave knight, he killed King Duncan.

The picture I chose describes the scene when Macbeth and Banquo encounters with the three witches. Banquo challenges the witches, but the witches speak to Macbeth (wikipedia). One witch greets Macbeth as "Thane of Glamis", the second witch greets him as "Thane of Cawdor", and the third proclaims that he shall "be King hereafter" (wikipedia). The witches also have a prophecy for Banquo saying that he will father kings, but he will not become a king.
The reason why I chose this picture is because I thought this picture can basically speak for itself. I came across many other pictures that I really liked but this picture showed more gestures and symbols to me.
The first gesture that I came across to while looking at this picture was that Banquo is behind Macbeth. I realized this because Banquo, as stated in the first paragraph wants to challenge the witches. He looks like he is ready to fight, whereas Macbeth, who is in the front, looks afraid of the witches. The second gesture I saw that was interesting to me was the horses. Macbeth’s horse looks afraid of the witches just like Macbeth is and Banquo’s horse looks calm and not afraid.

CHIVAS: BLOG 2.2 Archetype Innocent
CHIVAS: BLOG 2.2 Archetype Innocent: "My archetype is Innocent. We all start out our journey as innocents, with trust, faith and optimism. We believe our needs will be taken ca..."
Eng102 Blog.: 2.2: Innocent/Orphan.
Eng102 Blog.: 2.2: Innocent/Orphan.: "I'm doing some searching on my archetype. I didn't really have any ideas or thoughts on what an innocent or an orphan archetype would be. ..."
2.2 Orphan and Innocence
The first picture I chose was a picture of Annie ( a character on the movie "Annie"). I chose this picture because Annie was a tough girl who wanted change and at the end got what she always wanted, a family who loved her. In this picture I see a loving girl who is very adventurous.
This picture is an angel. I chose this picture for this assighnment because I found this picture very beautiful and when I first saw this picture I thought of innocence. Innocence is defined, free from evil or guilt. I enjoy this picture very much.

2.1 Goblin Market
Christina Rossetti was born in London on December 5, 1830. She was one of four children. Her father, Gabriele Rossetti was a professor at King's College. All four children in the family became writers. Rossetti was educated at home by her mother, Frances Polidori. She got her passion for poetry from her parents. Rossetti began to write at the age of seven and published her first poem at 18. “Goblin Market” was written in 1859. Rossetti’s source of writing this famous poem was the bible and knowledge of the power of sexuality and education of women.
“Goblin Market” begins with the goblins advertising their wonderful fruits and bragging how plump and juicy the fruits are. Sisters, by the names of Laura and Lizzie hear the goblins cry out about their fruits and Lizzie encourages Laura not to look at the goblin men or buy their fruit. All of the goblins had some sort of animal feature or characteristic to them. One had a tail; another had a rat’s speed, one dragged like a snail, the other had a face of a cat. Etc. Laura and Lizzie was approached by the goblins, while Lizzie ignored the persuasive goblins, Laura spoke to the goblins and said she has no money to buy the fruits. The goblins convinced her to pay with her hair and she did. Laura bought the fruit, took a bite, and looked as if she never had such wonderful fruit in her life. She was distracted by the goodness of the fruit that she did not know weather it was night or day. When Laura finally got home, Lizzie warned her about staying out late and reminded Laura about Jeanie who was out late and met up with the goblins. Laura later told Lizzie that she ate the goblins fruit and how she will go buy more the following evening. The next morning Laura and Lizzie both woke up to do their morning chores. Lizzie was in a happy mood; her heart was filled with joy while Laura was very grumpy and waiting for the night to come. Laura turned cold and did not see or hear the goblins cry. Worried Lizzie went to Laura and told her to go look at the goblins. Laura did not move. It was as if she was not on the same planet as Lizzie. This went on for days until Lizzie could no take the sight of her sister being like this. Lizzie went to the goblins and tried to buy some fruit. She tossed them her penny and the goblins began to try to persuade Lizzie to eat the fruit with them. Lizzie denied the offer and told them if they would not sell her, the fruit then give her back her money. The goblins became angry and started to beat her up. Lizzie stood strong and they finally stopped. After the beating Lizzie was filled with the goblins fruit, she went to Laura and told to taste the fruit that was on her. After that night, Laura and Lizzie were back to normal because of Lizzie’s wonderful deed.
In this poem, I think Rosseti wanted her readers to know the significance of a good family and consequences of not listening. The many symbols I saw in this poem were one: The fruit- the fruit symbolizes the temptation. I saw Laura give in to temptation in line 115. Two: Goblins- Tempter. The goblins were tempters by persuading Laura to buy the fruit with her hair. Three: Laura symbolizes Eve. Laura knew not to eat the fruit because of the future consequences but ate it anyways. Four: Lizzie symbolizes hero because she was beaten up so that her sister can get out of the horrible stage she was in. The archetype I found in this poem was the story of Adam and Eve. I chose this story because just like Laura, Eve was tempted to eat the forbidden fruit and was finally persuaded by the devil to eat the fruit. I think this archetype means that people should be careful of what they do because it can have long-term consequences.
In conclusion, I think “Goblin Market” a lesson learned because people need to listen and be aware of any future consequences that can be a result to your actions. At the end of the day, there will be someone to save you from your mistake but not always.

1.3 Poetry Symbolism:" Mr. Rager"
The song I chose for this assignment is a song by Kid Cudi. “Mr. Rager” (2010). I believe this fits the theme of this class because it has the word heaven in it. I heard this song from a good friend of mine and when I was assigned this assignment, this song was the first song that came to mind. While reading the lyrics to this song, I found that I was imagining a lot of interesting things that made me want to find out the symbols of some of the important words that stood out to me. In this blog, I will be exploring the denotation (definition) and connotation (meaning of symbols in a poem) of the lyrics to this famous song.
The song starts off with “I'm off on a adventure... “Right there I can see a word that stood out to me which was adventure the definition of adventure is a wild and exciting undertaking. The connotation of adventure in my opinion is mind exploring. I thought of mind exploring because an adventure usually starts off in the mind. “I’m on my way to heaven” Heaven is defined as the abode of God and the angels. The connotation of heaven would be peace. “Birds seen flying around...” Bird, is a warm- blooded egg- laying vertebrates characterized by feathers and forelimbs modified as wings. Connotation definition would be exploration. Fantasy: imagination unrestricted by reality. The symbolism of fantasy would be fairy tales. Story: a piece of fiction that narrates a chain of related events. When the word story comes to mind I usually think of imagination. Considering all of the symbolism in this song I will be interpreting the meaning of “Mr. Rager”.
When I first heard this song I was thinking about someone who is getting high. Now that I broke the song down I know see that the meaning of this song in my opinion. I see a person who is exploring and enjoying his adventurous life. When he’s back on the ground (symbolic for earth) he’s not as adventurous. He’s actually not himself at all. People will always wonder where he is going in life and wonder if he will make it. This song is an inspiration to encourage people not to take advantage of what they have and to live life to the fullest.
